Role Description: Chemical Engineer - Shift Incharge
This is a full-time, on-site role at LithLife in Ahmedabad. As a Chemical Engineer - Shift Incharge, you will oversee the chemical processes involved in lithium-ion battery recycling during assigned shifts. You will be responsible for managing the safe and efficient operation of chemical processing equipment, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. You will also coordinate with the production and maintenance teams to optimize the performance of chemical processes, ensuring that production targets are met.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the operation of chemical processing and operating units, including leaching, solvent extraction, and precipitation stages of the recycling process.
- Monitor and control chemical reactions, ensuring optimal recovery of valuable materials such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel.
- Implement and maintain safety protocols related to handling chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Troubleshoot process-related issues to minimize downtime and maintain consistent production levels.
- Collaborate with the R&D and production teams to optimize chemical processes and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and maintain accurate records of shift activities, including production performance and chemical usage.
- Provide guidance and training to operators on chemical safety, equipment operation, and process parameters.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure the proper functioning of chemical equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a chemical engineering role, preferably in a recycling, manufacturing, or chemical processing environment.
- Strong knowledge of chemical processes, including leaching, solvent extraction, and process optimization.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices for handling chemicals.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Experience with plant operations and shift management.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
