Job Description

Job Responsibilities
A Chef de Partie (CDP) in a bakery is responsible for overseeing and managing a specific section of the bakery, ensuring the production of high-quality baked goods that meet the restaurant's standards. They work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs to maintain efficient operations and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Production:

Oversee the production of a specific range of baked goods, including breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts.
Ensure adherence to recipes, standards, and quality control measures.
Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of orders.

Inventory Management:

Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies for the bakery section.
Place orders for necessary items and ensure timely delivery.
Maintain accurate records of inventory usage and wastage.

Staff Supervision:

Train and supervise bakery staff, including Commis Chefs and Pastry Cooks.
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback.
Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.

Equipment Maintenance:

Inspect and maintain bakery equipment, including ovens, mixers, and proofers.
Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues.

Quality Control:

Taste and inspect baked goods to ensure they meet quality standards.
Address any quality issues and implement corrective measures.

Cost Control:

Monitor food costs and wastage to ensure profitability.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.

Customer Satisfaction:

Ensure that the bakery products meet customer expectations in terms of taste, presentation, and freshness.
Address customer complaints and provide satisfactory resolutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:


Strong knowledge of baking techniques and methods.
