Job Title: Chartered Accountant
Location: Chennai, India
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Chartered Accountant to oversee and manage our accounting functions. This role involves ensuring compliance with corporate KPIs, managing financial performance metrics, and leading an accounting team responsible for a wide range of financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, a deep understanding of US GAAP, and experience in a professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivables/Invoicing and Accounts Payable:
- Ensure AR/AP processes meet Corporate KPIs, including Cash by Month, AR/AP aging.
- Oversee rate forecasting for Overhead (OH), General & Administration (G&A), Employee Productivity, and Revenue by product, vertical, and country.
- Accounting Processes and Policies:
- Administer and oversee corporate accounting policies.
- Maintain a compliance calendar for Indian legal entities, ensuring timely submissions and reporting.
- Project Accounting:
- Manage project accounting functions, including time collection, revenue recognition, invoicing, and financial performance.
- External Audits and Tax Payments:
- Coordinate with external audit teams on annual financial audits and tax payments.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and oversee an accounting team handling travel requests, credit card reconciliation, project set-up, payroll operations, etc.
- Foster a culture of engagement within the team.
- Collaboration with HR:
- Work with HR on benefits renewals when necessary.
- Financial Planning and Budgeting:
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and Corporate Controller on business unit and company budget controls.
- Accounting Management System:
- Oversee the system to drive insights for optimal financial performance.
- Reporting and Presentations:
- Update financial statements based on bi-monthly performance reports.
- Coordinate and prepare internal and external presentations.
- Service Pricing and Proposals:
- Provide updated service pricing and support for proposals as needed.
- Data Provision and Guidance:
- Offer data and guidance on revenue recognition, cost analysis/reporting, asset analysis, and subsidiary financial reporting.
- Forecasting:
- Deliver monthly updates to the Revenue and Cost Forecast.
- Charge Numbers:
- Ensure accurate charging and reporting of hours, collaborating with Contract Management.
- Policy Management:
- Manage policies related to Charging and Delegations to Subsidiaries.
- Compliance and Deadlines:
- Meet deadlines for monthly actuals, invoicing, tax forecasting, and payments.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting; professional accounting certification (CPA, Chartered Accountant, ACCA, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience:10+ years in Accounting, with a focus on professional services environments and multinational operations.
- Knowledge:
- Proficiency in US GAAP.
- Familiarity with international banking systems and practices.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance for Indian legal entities.
