Solar Panel Category head
Role Overview:
The Category Head - Solar Panels will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy for our solar panel product line. This includes managing supplier relationships, ensuring product quality and compliance, identifying new market opportunities, and driving profitability and growth within the solar panel category. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in category management and a deep understanding of the solar industry, particularly in navigating the DCR (Domestic Content Requirement) and non-DCR markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the solar panel category, including market analysis, product development, sourcing, and pricing strategies.
- Identify and leverage market opportunities for both DCR-compliant and non-DCR solar panel solutions, aligning with customer needs and Vashi Integrated Solutions business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure high-quality standards, competitive pricing, and a reliable supply chain.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to ensure successful category management and alignment with overall company goals.
- Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in solar panels, recommending innovative solutions to maintain a competitive edge.
- Oversee product development projects from concept to launch, ensuring they meet customer requirements, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Analyze category performance, including sales, profitability, and market share, and adjust strategies as needed to achieve business targets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. A Masters degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in category management, procurement, or a related field, with a proven track record in the Solar industry.
- Strong knowledge of DCR and non-DCR solar panel markets, including market trends, industry standards, and policy frameworks.
- Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategies that drive business growth in the solar sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in MS Office and category management software.
