Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Category Buyer to join our team. The Category Buyer will be responsible for managing specific product categories within our inventory, including corporate gifting, office stationary, pantry supplies, and housekeeping products. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for market trends, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Category Management: Oversee the entire product lifecycle for assigned categories, including assortment planning, product selection, and inventory management.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and ensure timely delivery of products.
- Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Sourcing and Procurement: Source new products and suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, and manage the procurement process to ensure cost-effective and high-quality products.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, including pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and coordinate with the inventory management team to optimize stock levels and minimize stockouts.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements, and address any quality issues or concerns in a timely manner.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including marketing, sales, and operations, to develop and execute category-specific strategies and initiatives.
- Performance Tracking: Track and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for assigned categories, such as sales performance, margin analysis, and supplier performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. Fresher can apply only if your communication & analytical skills are excellent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in category management, procurement, or related roles, preferably in the retail or e-commerce industry.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and contract negotiation techniques.
- Experience with inventory management systems and ERP software preferred.
