Position Title: Cashier

Job Summary:

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently. The Cashier will be responsible for processing sales, handling payments, and providing exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet customers as they enter and exit the store.

Operate cash registers and handle various forms of payment including cash, credit/debit cards, and checks.

Scan items, ensure pricing is correct, and apply discounts or promotions as needed.

Bag, box, or gift-wrap merchandise, and assist customers with carrying items as necessary.

Balance the cash register at the end of the shift and generate sales reports.

Resolve customer complaints and answer questions regarding pricing, promotions, and products.

Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.

Follow all store policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment.

Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth store operations.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience as a cashier or in a similar role is preferred.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Basic math skills and ability to handle transactions accurately.

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds.

Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Professional appearance and attitude.

Working Conditions:

This position requires standing for long periods.

May require working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
