Responsibilities:
- Administer anaesthesia to patients undergoing cardiac surgeries and procedures
- Monitor patients vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels, during surgery
- Ensure patients are properly positioned and prepared for surgery
- Administer medications and fluids as required
- Manage patients pain and discomfort during and after surgery
- Monitor and adjust anaesthesia levels throughout the procedure
- Respond to any emergencies or complications that may arise during surgery
- Document and maintain accurate records of patients medical history, anaesthesia plan, and medications administered
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in cardiac anaesthesia
Qualifications and Skills:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Board certification in Anaesthesiology
- Fellowship training in Cardiac Anaesthesia
- Valid state medical license
- Excellent knowledge of anaesthesia techniques and medications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused during high-pressure situations
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement an anaesthesia plan
