Capital Analyst

AXA XL is the Property & Casualty risk division of AXA, created from the acquisition of XL Catlin in 2018. We partner with mid-sized to multinational clients to take their business further, with more than 30 lines of business to offer solutions for existing and emerging risks. With 9,000+ colleagues based in approximately 30 countries we are able to serve clients in more than 200 countries. The key purpose of this role is to support the Capital Actuary - XLB (UK-based) in ensuring that the risk profile of XL Bermuda (XLB) is adequately modelled and communicated via an internal capital model that reflects the BMA standards.

What will your essential responsibilities include

.Supporting the application process to obtain a BMA-approved internal model for XLB.

.Post approval, support the ongoing development and use of the internal model for XLB.

.Production and review of model inputs and outputs including data manipulation, reconciliation tasks, running sensitivity tests and justifying their appropriateness for the entity's exposure where necessary.

.Support the engagement with the BMA on the ongoing use and development of the internal model.

.Assist in the production of such written reports and quantitative output as may be required in the communication and validation of the Capital Model.

.Respond to queries or ad-hoc investigations regarding the capital or underlying risk position of the entity.

.Ensure governance processes are appropriately followed, and data quality standards are met.

.Production and maintenance of model documentation to a sufficient standard to meet regulatory and professional demands in respect of any activity carried out.

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills and Abilities:

.Highly numerate and analytical with good academic record(preferably IIT/IIIT),

.A self-starter with strong organizational skills

.Strong mathematical skill and ability to understand complex mathematical models

.Advance Coding skills in R, Python or any other programming languages

.Good written and verbal communication skills,

.Excellent Microsoft Excel skills - preferably with experience of VBA

Desired Skills and Abilities:

.Willingness to learn and take on tasks outside areas of prior experience.

.Knowledge of capital modelling isbeneficial, but not essential.
