Responsibilities
WSP is currently initiating a search for a CAD Technician/Modeling Specialist to be based in our Noida/Banglore office. This role is within WSP's ICRC-US Environment Business line and the Role and Responsibility of the Modeling Specialist will be to support CAD design on projects to be used for planning, transportation, and infrastructure development. The role supports and enhances our modeling workflows using advanced CAD and environmental modeling tools by creating detailed models and simulations assist in the planning of sustainable projects and support the development of environmental solutions. Here are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this role:
- Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, surveys, structural concepts, blueprints, schematics, data, verbal or written specifications, technical drawings, rough sketches, diagrams, and other matrices to support drafting and design activities.
- Use 3D computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software to assist with basic design details and prepare drawings which require a high degree of precision.
- Provide basic technical design assistance that accounts for the proper illustration, fit form, and function using geometric dimensioning, tolerance and quantity calculations, while ensuring the construction and maintainability of designs according to design standard specifications.
- Assist with verifying calculations, design, change orders, interpretation of contract plans and specifications, and escalating any issues or technical problems for appropriate resolution.
- Manage and maintain a repository of environmental models and related data, ensuring integrity and accessibility for project teams.
