CAD Team Lead / Manager Job Description

We are looking a talented and detail-oriented PCB Design team lead/manager to join our team. In this role, the candidate will design and develop printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for various electronic products. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and utilize the candidate's expertise in PCB design to ensure the successful implementation of electronic systems.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop PCB layouts based on product specifications, considering factors such as component placement, signal integrity, power distribution, and manufacturability.

Utilize advanced CAD tools (such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar) to create and modify complex PCB designs.

Collaborate with electrical engineers and hardware designers to optimize circuit board layouts and ensure proper functionality.

Conduct design reviews and provide feedback on PCB designs to improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Drive design decisions related to signal integrity, power distribution, thermal management, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

Generate and maintain accurate documentation, including schematics, bill of materials (BOM), and assembly drawings.

Perform design validation tests and simulations to verify the integrity and performance of PCB designs.

Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in PCB design technologies and techniques.

Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure smooth production and timely delivery of PCBs.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PCB layout, component placement, and signal integrity.

Adhere to design standards, regulatory requirements, and quality guidelines.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field with 10+ years experience

Proven experience in PCB design, including proficiency in CAD software for PCB layout design (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD).

Solid understanding of PCB design principles, including high-speed digital and analog circuit design considerations.

Strong understanding of PCB design principles, including signal integrity, power integrity, thermal management, and EMC.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for PCB design, manufacturing, and assembly.

Knowledge of signal integrity analysis tools (e.g., HyperLynx, SIwave) is a plus.
