Job Overview:
As a CAD Designer specializing in jewellery, you will be responsible for designing and modelling intricate jewellery pieces that align with our brand's aesthetic and technical standards. You will collaborate with designers and craftsmen to bring concepts to life, ensuring precision and excellence in every design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Creation: Develop detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings for various jewellery pieces, including rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the design team to understand design concepts, requirements, and specifications.
- Prototyping: Create and modify prototypes and production-ready designs, ensuring they meet both aesthetic and functional standards.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation to guide production and manufacturing processes.
- Material Knowledge: Stay updated on material properties, jewellery trends, and manufacturing techniques to inform design choices and innovation.
- Quality Control: Review and revise designs based on feedback, ensuring that final products meet quality and design standards.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize CAD software (e.g., Rhino, Matrix, or other jewelry-specific tools) to create precise and detailed designs.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Jewelry Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of experience in CAD design, with a strong portfolio showcasing jewellery design work.
- Skills: Proficiency in CAD software specific to jewellery design, such as Rhino, Matrix, or SolidWorks. Strong understanding of jewellery design principles, gemstone settings, and manufacturing processes.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and precision in design and documentation.
- Creativity: Strong creative vision with the ability to translate concepts into visually stunning and technically feasible designs.
- Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with design teams, clients, and manufacturers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with 3D printing and other rapid prototyping techniques.
- Familiarity with gemstone properties and settings.
- Knowledge of current jewellery trends and market demands.
