Overview
The CAD Design Engineer plays a critical role in the organization by creating detailed designs and technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software. This individual will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and modify design concepts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify CAD models and technical drawings based on project requirements
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand design specifications and constraints
- Conduct design reviews and make necessary adjustments based on feedback
- Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards and safety regulations
- Provide support for prototype development and testing
- Participate in design validation activities and identify areas for improvement
- Contribute to design documentation and technical reports

- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field
- Proven experience in CAD design and drafting
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and GD&T principles
- Ability to interpret and apply engineering specifications and standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
- Experience in design validation and testing
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
