Position Title: Accounting Lecturer (CA/CMA)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) to join our academic team as an Accounting Lecturer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education in accounting, auditing, taxation, cost management, and financial management to undergraduate and graduate students. This role also involves curriculum development, student mentorship, and contributing to the academic community through research and service.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching:
- Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials in accounting, finance, auditing, taxation, and related subjects.
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments to ensure current and comprehensive coverage of topics.
- Utilize various teaching methods and technologies to engage and support diverse learners.
Curriculum Development:
- Collaborate with faculty to design and implement innovative and effective curricula.
- Incorporate industry trends, standards, and best practices into the curriculum.
- Participate in regular curriculum reviews to ensure relevance and rigor.
Student Support:
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
- Offer guidance on career paths, internships, and professional certifications (CA, CMA, CPA).
- Assist students with academic challenges and support their overall development.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Design and grade assessments, exams, and assignments.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to enhance their learning experience.
- Ensure fair and transparent evaluation processes.
Research and Scholarship:
- Engage in scholarly research and contribute to academic publications in the field of accounting and finance.
- Present research findings at conferences and seminars.
- Collaborate with colleagues on research projects and grant applications.
Service and Administration:
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other institutional activities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental goals and initiatives.
- Engage with the professional accounting community to foster industry-academia relationships.
Professional Development:
- Stay current with developments in the accounting profession through continuous professional development.
- Maintain active professional certification (CA/CMA) and participate in relevant professional organizations.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) certification.
- Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Ph.D. preferred.
- Minimum [X] years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or a related area.
- Previous teaching experience at the university level is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, taxation, and financial management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and student success.
- Ability to engage in scholarly research and contribute to academic knowledge.
