Banyan is on the lookout for a dynamic Business Research Analyst to join our Chennai Tech & Data team, collaborating with our Canada/US counterparts. As part of our mission to construct an unparalleled sourcing engine, we are dedicated to discovering, engaging, nurturing, and securing acquisitions of standout Vertical Market Software (VMS) companies.
Your primary mission is to unearth high-caliber B2B VMS companies, employing a mix of innovative research techniques and cutting-edge lead generation technologies. This endeavor aims to bolster our sales pipeline right from the top, ensuring a steady influx of quality leads. Responsibilities:
Lead Generation and Qualification: Utilize advanced lead generation technologies to compile a list of high-caliber B2B VMS prospects, ensuring they meet Banyan's criteria for potential acquisitions.
Comprehensive Market Research: Systematically explore various industry verticals to identify potential Vertical Market Software (VMS) companies for acquisition, using both traditional and innovative research methodologies.
Data Analysis and Insights: Analyze market data and trends to provide actionable insights, helping to shape acquisition strategies and identify emerging opportunities within the B2B software sector.
Collaborate with Global Teams: Work closely with the onshore team in Canada/US to align research activities and strategies with company objectives.
Funnel Building: Actively source new qualified accounts to ensure a consistent flow of quality leads for the business development team to pursue.
Report and Communicate Findings: Prepare detailed reports and presentations on research findings, market analysis, and potential acquisition targets, effectively communicating insights to stakeholders across the organization.
Qualifications for success:
Proficiency in Research Methodologies: Skilled in traditional and innovative research techniques, with the ability to adapt and employ new methods to uncover valuable market intelligence.
Experience with Lead Generation Technologies: Demonstrated experience in using advanced lead generation tools and technologies to identify and qualify potential acquisition targets.
Deep Understanding of B2B Software Market: Solid grasp of the B2B software landscape, especially Vertical Market Software (VMS) companies, including their business models, market dynamics, and competitive positioning.
Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze large sets of company data to identify product offerings, vertical, end users and service offerings.
Excellent Collaboration and Communication Skills: Ability to work seamlessly with global teams, including effective cross-cultural communication and the capacity to synthesize and present complex findings clearly.
Strategic Thinking: Strategic mindset with the ability to connect research activities to overarching business goals and strategies.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Passion for leveraging data to make informed decisions, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy. Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud (or similar) for tracking, analyzing and managing data is strongly preferred.
Creative Problem-Solving: Aptitude for inventive research and problem-solving, with the ability to think outside the box to overcome challenges and identify new opportunities.
Educational Background: Preferably a degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field, complemented by experience or a keen interest in the tech industry. A solid understanding and practical experience with Salesforce is seen as a significant advantage, reflecting the role's operational needs.
Working Hours: This role would work closely with their counterparts in the North America region, and would require an overlap of 3 to 4 hours in evenings IST with Eastern Standard Time (ideally, 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm IST).
