Overview
The role will work closely with Senior Manager - Technology Business, Governance & Risk and support the Retirement Solutions Technology team with their strategic & operational initiatives including business planning, IT scorecards & risk management.
As a key member of the team, the individual will drive the operational effectiveness of RS Technology team.
The individual will be driven by achieving clear and measurable business outcomes with a relentless drive for delivering sustainable improvement in the effectiveness and employee engagement of the global team.
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities
Strategic Focus
Annual and long-range strategic and operational business planning including financials and budgeting.
Coordination of the performance management and reporting including IT scorecard, financial, delivery and risk.
Developing business capability / Technical reference models (including Total Cost of Ownership) and undertaking function assessments to identify opportunities for operating model optimisation.
Conduct research, analysis, and proof of concepts for proposed business models and capabilities.
Provide advice and analysis on governance, technical and financial impacts of proposed changes and new services to achieve value for money and effectiveness.
Development of strategies and establishing investment and business benefit realisation planning and monitoring.
Building inter-relationships among projects, roles, teams, data, technology and across the information, application, and technology architecture domains.
Operational Management
Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of IT expenditure, monitoring and reporting by identifying future use cases that will improve the quality of data for cost transparency and industry benchmarking.
Coordinate the annual RS Technology Strategic and Operational business planning processes (with functional IT Heads, Architecture) leading to an agreed investment plan.
Implement the RS Technology annual balanced scorecard and objectives, thus providing traceability to the strategy and goals, and associated metrics.
Develop the business capability model (including Total Cost of Ownership) and undertake function assessments to identify opportunities for operating model optimisation.
Translating strategic objectives into actionable technology and improvement streams of work taking into consideration sequencing and dependencies.
Tracking, managing, and communicating the annual strategic plan and objectives including delivery and risk, resource utilization, and budget.
Providing performance data and insights to support timely and effective decision-making by the Leadership Team.
People Leadership
Work with stakeholders towards a common vision or goal and gain buy-in.
Work with the technology leadership team assisting in:
Timely completion of tasks
Introduce Innovation to solve business challenges.
Governance & Risk
Provide governance for cluster-wide portfolio reporting and IT business ensuring compliance with standards to support effective executive decision making.
Identify opportunities for optimisation and financial savings.
Take a lead on the management of risk, dependencies and issues associated with tech delivery.

Experience & Personal Attributes
Experience
10+ years professional experience working in large and complex environments managing programs and/or portfolios, experience working through momentous change and integration programs is highly desirable.
Consulting experience is favourable.
Experience in Business Architecture including certification such as BizBok or TOGAF Business Architecture.
Experience in ITIL and or COBIT
Experienced business / enterprise architecture capability.
Experience in Developing visualizations / models for analysis to extend and mature the business design and architecture capability.
Experience in developing presentations, management reports & budget information.
Action and results focused with a high level of planning and a proven ability to work across and manage multiple in flight projects.
Degree qualified in Business, Technology, Commerce, or related field.
