Business Intelligence Engineer

We're hiring a Business Intelligence Engineer!

Our Analytics team is growing! We're looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to join us and build a new generation of analytics engine to support product insights in the 3D AI domain.

This is an opportunity to use the latest technology to simplify and scale our data infrastructure all while implementing engineering best practices, setting technical standards in data management and governance, and holding a high bar for operational excellence. Using this infrastructure, you would collaborate with organizational stakeholders and empower them to derive business insights and drive strategy.

This is a high visibility role, with regular access to senior business and technology leaders and having a key influence on them. You would be understanding and anticipating stakeholder needs and providing inputs that span across product feature prioritization, product design inputs, business strategy and engineering design. To do this you would need to have the ability to work with large data sets and identify patterns to derive meaningful insights and then use them to recommend a solution.

All responsibilities we trust you with:

Business/Data Understanding:

• Review and understand Avataar's business requirements across the different pods
• Review and interpret the current product data

Data Preparation:

• Design, development, and ongoing operations of scalable, performant data warehouse (Redshift) tables, data pipelines, reports, and dashboards.
• Development of moderately to highly complex data processing jobs using appropriate technologies (e.g. SQL, Python, Spark, AWS Lambda, etc.)
• Own data cleansing and structuring efforts to ensure data sanctity

Modeling of data

• Determine all data modeling requirements needed to run regular and ad hoc reports
• Organize data in the best way possible for regular and ad hoc reporting outputs
• Test all data requirements before finalizing any form of reporting
• Own data cataloging and governance efforts to ensure secured democratization of data knowledge

Evaluation and stakeholder empowerment

• Analyze data, interpret, and create presentations for data outputs to guide insights on recommendations
• Interpret and distribute all reporting on a regular as well as ad-hoc basis
• Provide training to end users on the use of reports and identify ways to simplify and automate
• reporting

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

• 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, statistics, data engineering, data science, or related fields.
• Expert-level SQL
• Strong experience with engineering and operations best practices (version control, data
• quality/testing, monitoring, etc.)
• Strong Experience with Data modeling, ETL, Data Warehousing, and Data Lakes.
• Strong Experience with data visualization tools(Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
• Experience with product analytics tools (Mixpanel, Google Analytics, etc.)
• Proficiency with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, Scala, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of statistical measures and techniques
• Knowledge of AWS products such as Redshift, AWS Glue, and Lambda.
• Excellent verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including ability to summarize key
• findings and effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.

Competencies that would be a plus:

• Experience with data-specific programming languages/packages such as R or Python Pandas
• Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and EMR.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques and concepts

Job Location

The opening is at the Bangalore office on a full-time basis.
