Role Description

Wood Mackenzie is looking for enthusiastic and talented sales professionals to meaningfully contribute to our revenue growth by working closely with marketing and sales to build our commercial pipeline.

The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for converting inbound leads into commercial opportunities for the sales team to progress to closure. The Business Development Specialist will primarily do this by working with Americas marketing teams to identify and engage warm campaign leads, and by observing the content/products that prospects are engaging with online, identifying their needs, and reaching out via cold calling,emails and Linkedin to engage them in a conversation about WoodMac products and services and pass the leads to our sales team.

Responsibilities Of The Role

  • Self-manage a high-volume lead pipeline, meeting tight SLAs and staying on top of leads and opportunities.
  • Trying to book a meeting/ call leads in the inbound pipeline and try to cross sell/ up-sell new products within their interested sector.
  • Qualification of prospects.
  • Screening high quality commercial leads through inbound enquiries, campaign lead qualification, and pro-active lead generation.
  • Connect with leads in your pipeline across various channels (call, email, LinkedIn messaging), ensuring multiple outreach attempts within certain timeframes.
  • Continuously following up with all the leads in the pipeline to make sure we are reaching a high conversation rate.
  • Working to overachieve the KPI's set by the leadership Team, such as: delivering a volume of qualified leads, delivering on pipeline and revenue targets, maintaining a minimum conversion rate for qualified leads.
  • Identify and qualify commercial potential, develop a pipeline of viable opportunities and effectively manage the pipeline with the sales team, including timely follow up of all leads and advancing leads through selling process to close
  • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales manager for further development and closure
  • Monitor own performance to target, using reporting tools and resources available
  • Partner with account managers and others to lead the commercial success of products, positioning and demonstrating solutions to customers, showing how these products can address their workflows.
  • Qualifying leads from Woodmac events and webinars.
  • Keeping salesforce up to date and measuring activity, revenue, and pipeline changes

Knowledge & Experience Required

  • Substantial experience within business development, sales or lead qualification/business development, predominantly in a busy, B2B lead generation position;
  • Open to working in Americas time zone.
  • Experience using sales qualification methodologies
  • A proven track record of overachieving sales KPI's
  • Effective time management and organizational skills and self-manage a high-volume lead pipeline, meeting tight SLAs and staying on top of leads and opportunities.
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail when following processes and maintaining accuracy of our CRM system (Salesforce).
  • Demonstrated ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to speak with people at all professional levels. A positive, can-do attitude, and a hungriness to exceed all targets and goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Full business proficiency in English is required and any additional language is a bonus.
  • Naturally positive and resilient, with an enthusiastic outlook
  • Driven and ambitious with a strong desire to succeed
  • Ability to effectively partner and collaborate across teams
  • Experience using Salesforce and/or Pardot preferred
  • Experience working in the energy and commodity markets would be beneficial.
  • A growth mindset, strong commercial acumen, and ability to spot new opportunities
