What is the work

  • Lead and manage a team of sales representatives focused on Upwork, providing guidance, support, and coaching to maximize performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong profiles on Upwork, ensuring optimization and visibility to attract potential clients.
  • Strategize and execute initiatives to convert bids into leads, maintaining a min of 70% conversion rate.
  • Drive the team to maintain a conversion rate of over 70% on leads received through Upwork.
  • Directly engage with high-value clients through pre-sales calls to understand their requirements and propose tailored solutions.
  • Experienced in effectively interacting with executives at the CXO level, fostering relationships, and facilitating meaningful two-way communication.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies specifically for Upwork, leveraging the platform's features and functionalities.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to create compelling sales collateral, presentations, and proposals tailored for Upwork clients.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments related to Upwork and freelancing platforms to identify opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Analyze sales data from Upwork, track performance metrics, and prepare regular reports to assess progress towards revenue goals and make data-driven decisions.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations of the Upwork sales team, providing feedback, and implementing training programs to enhance effectiveness.
  • Utilize LinkedIn and other channels for lead generation, with a focus on integrating efforts with Upwork strategies.
  • Should be willing to work in flexible time shifts to be able to connect with potential clients across different time zone

What skills and experience are we looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in sales management, with a proven track record of over 5 years in achieving sales targets and generating significant revenue through Upwork and similar platforms.
  • Extensive experience with Upwork, including profile optimization, bidding, proposal writing, and client management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate value propositions and build rapport with Upwork clients.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive and results-oriented mindset, capable of developing and executing effective sales strategies on Upwork.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
