Job Description
As a Business Development Manager (BDM) for a digital marketing agency, your primary responsibility will be to drive business growth and establish strategic partnerships for the agency. You will play a crucial role in identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with potential clients, and expanding the agency's client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve the agency's growth objectives. This includes identifying target markets, industries, and potential clients.
- Lead Generation: Proactively generate leads through various channels, including cold calling, email marketing, networking events, and leveraging existing industry connections. Identify decision-makers within target organizations and engage them to explore potential partnerships.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services. Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with the agency's internal teams, such as the marketing and creative departments, to develop compelling proposals and presentations tailored to clients specific needs. Present these proposals to potential clients, highlighting the agency's capabilities and value proposition.
- Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate contract terms and pricing with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements. Ensure all contracts and legal documents are accurately prepared, reviewed, and executed.
- Market Research and Analysis: Stay updated with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging digital marketing technologies. Conduct market research and analysis to identify new opportunities, potential niches, and innovative strategies to drive business growth.
- Reporting and Forecasting: Track and analyse sales metrics, business development activities, and pipeline management. Generate regular reports and provide insights to the management team, including revenue forecasts and performance against targets.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with the agency's internal teams, including account managers, marketing specialists, and creative professionals, to deliver seamless client experiences. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated marketing strategies and ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field (relevant work experience can be considered in lieu of a degree).
- Proven experience in business development and sales within the digital marketing industry, preferably in an agency environment.
- In-depth knowledge of digital marketing concepts, trends, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of various digital marketing channels, such as search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, social media marketing, content marketing, and email marketing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
