Business Development Manager

Salary: 2.4L 3.6L | Equity: 0.3% 0.8%

Location: Goa, India (hybrid)

This startup, founded in 2016, is revolutionizing indoor hydroponic farming by providing pesticide-free, healthy food. They have successfully supplied fresh produce to over 22 restaurants in Goa and assisted others in establishing their own urban farms. With a focus on positive social change through technology, the company is incubated and funded by BITS Goa. They are currently expanding their focus to specialize in superfoods and explore international markets, operating with a flat hierarchy where everyone's ideas are valued and unconventional thinking is encouraged.

Role Overview:

The company is seeking a Business Development Manager to help drive its growth. This role involves acquiring and retaining clients, promoting additional products to existing clients, and staying updated on market trends. The BDM will be responsible for managing the profit and growth of their assigned region, setting ambitious goals, and developing strategies to achieve them. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys challenges and is eager to drive new initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • - Manage the profit and growth of the assigned region.
  • - Set and achieve ambitious targets.
  • - Lead new marketing initiatives.
  • - Increase sales to current customers.
  • - Acquire new clients through direct contact and referrals.
  • - Network at events to connect with potential clients.
  • - Suggest new products or services based on client feedback.
  • - Develop and implement strategies for regional operations.

Requirements:

  • - Proven experience in sales (a degree in marketing or business is a plus, but not required).
  • - Strong understanding of human behavior and client needs.
  • - Ability to increase revenue by identifying customer problems and offering solutions.
  • - Experience in the agriculture sector or related fields is advantageous.
  • - Excellent networking and communication skills.
  • - Detail-oriented with good listening skills.
  • - Ability to work under pressure.
