Position Overview: As a Business Development Executive at What Works, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships, and driving growth. You will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base and achieving revenue targets through strategic sales initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
- Cold call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
- Research and build relationships with new clients.
- Set up meetings between client decision-makers and company's practice leaders/Principals.
- Plan approaches and pitches. Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives.
- Participate in pricing the solution/service.
- Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
- Proven track record in business development or sales, with 3-6 years of experience.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build rapport and establish trust with potential clients.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
- Follow established SOPs for lead generation, client meetings, and sales presentations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system regarding sales activity, pipeline, and client interactions.
- Adhere to SOPs for proposal development, ensuring all proposals are tailored to client needs and aligned with company capabilities.
- Implement SOPs for post-sale handover to account management or project teams, ensuring smooth transition and client satisfaction.
- Utilize SOPs for regular reporting on sales performance, KPIs, and pipeline status to management.
Measurable Objectives (MOs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets and revenue goals.
- Maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities.
- Increase client acquisition and retention rates.
- Meet or exceed KPIs related to calls, meetings, and proposals.
