  • Overall Obligation:
  • The Business Development Executive is responsible for the sales performance
  • and the profitability of the Traditional Trade / General trade Channel for the assigned Territory within a region (defined by
  • North, East, West, South and Central). He/she assists the Area Sales
  • Manager (ASM) in delivering the overall regional sales objectives, supervises,
  • fine-tunes and monitors the execution and takes proactive initiatives to cease
  • every opportunity to increase the sales in accordance with the companies
  • policies and strategies.
  • He/she heads and coaches the distributor Sales Team in the territory. It is
  • his/her obligation to form an efficient and effective team that is perfectly
  • cooperating with all internal and external partners.

  • Detailed Responsibilities (non-conclusive):
  • Business Objectives
  1. To achieve volume and value objectives of the assigned territory within
  2. budget, time and policy parameters through efficient control of the network
  3. under charge
  4. Executing the agreed strategic alliances with key outlets
  5. Timely implementation and follow-ups for monthly activity/ promotions specific
  6. to outlet and chain
  7. Liaison with Merchandising team for branding activities at stores
  8. Operating all Schemes & Promotional Activities (Marketing & Sales) as per
  9. prior approvals and discussed during the monthly review meetings
  10. Responsible for Controlling Dominant shelf space in the Key Accounts
  11. Managing health of distributor channel on a monthly basis
  12. Assisting the Area Sales Manager at Sales forecasting Brand and SKU wise
  13. while looking at the Market Potential
  14. Training & Development of distributor sales team, providing timely feedback
  15. in the market & through monthly review and meetings
  16. Financial Responsibilities
  17. Documentation of outlet expenses (damages, trade schemes, promotional
  18. expenses, visibility expenses) on a monthly basis for audit purposes
  19. Settling distributor and outlet claims (within stipulated timeframe)
  20. Submitting NOCs (No Objection Certificate)
  21. from distributors on a quarterly basis
  22. from Traditional Trade stores on an annual basis
  23. Efficiency tracking of all the investments and promotions in all the outlets
  24. Distributor Responsibilities
  25. Ensure all planned distributors in the zone are appointed in time and are
  26. operational through proper coordination
  27. Evaluate the performance of the distributors
  28. Responsible for destroying damaged/ expired goods in physical presence at
  29. distributor premises with prior approval
  30. ü Managing health of distributor channel on a monthly basis:
  31. ü Speed of claim settlement
  32. ü Monitoring damages as a percentage of sales
  33. ü Maintaining sales and stock register
  34. ü Generating primary orders to maintain adequate stock levels at any given
  35. point
  36. ü Generating weekly indent to maintain healthy sales skew for the month
  37. ü Maintaining distributor MIS according to company norms
  38. Ensure optimal distribution cost by reviewing Routing & Scheduling on a
  39. quarterly basis
  40. Monitoring inventory control, thereby ensuring ready availability of the stock
  41. as per the market demand and implement effective logistic strategies
  42. Appointment of DSR, Salesforce by identifying gap and for optimizing width
  43. & Depth of Distribution
  44. Outlet Responsibilities
  45. Ensure gold standard merchandising (display / visibility) by executing set
  46. planogram
  47. Maintain a database of all Traditional Trade outlets (administrative,
  48. commercial, business details)
  49. Plan a regular (monthly) journey plan for regional Traditional Trade
  50. personnel with ASM
  51. Maintain company assets in Traditional Trade outlets
  52. Ensuring timely Implementation of Visibility, Promotional Schemes, and
  53. Display of POP material, Banner, Billboard Etc.
  54. Plan and implement promotional campaigns suiting the customer segments
  55. in the local market responsible for utilization of promotional budgets for the
  56. territory

Competition Tracking Responsibilities

  1. Reviewing and interpreting the competition after in-depth analysis of market
  2. information to fine-tune the marketing strategies
  3. Ensure proper and immediate feedback for appropriate and timely action
  4. Reporting Responsibilities
  5. Meet all reporting schedules to ensure accuracy of information
  6. Monitor results on weekly / monthly basis to determine deviations from
  7. plans and take necessary corrective actions
  8. Administrative reporting to the Area Sales Manager of area concerned
  9. Keep track of Secondary Sales, and regularly conduct reviews with
  10. extended sales team
  11. Responsible for MIS reporting with online IT enabled system
  12. Required Qualification:
  13. Education: Graduate in any principle
  14. Degree / Diploma in Business Management or related subject preferred
  15. 5+ years of experience in Sales
  16. Minimum 2 years responsibility for handling Traditional Trade in India
  17. PC Know-how: Good Microsoft-Office skills
  18. Languages: Basic command of spoken and written English
  19. Secrecy:
  20. The incumbent is strictly obliged to keep company-information as a secret,
  21. especially after termination of the labor-relation.
