We are Datum Advanced Composites Private Limited a rapidly growing fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite manufacturing business from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. At Datum, we design, develop, and manufacture high-performance lightweight FRP composites products for our customers. We cover all aspects of the composite product lifecycle, from new product design, process development, prototyping, verification and validation, and series production to aftersales product support. Job Description

.At Datum, we cater to a diverse customer base. You will get an opportunity to work on a wide variety of solutions ranging from unmanned platforms, aerospace and defence systems, marine structures, automotive parts, energy systems, smart prosthetics to robotics. You will be a part of Strategy job family in our Advanced Manufacturing Facility at 523, Ratanpur, Panki, Kanpur 208020, Uttar Pradesh, India. The role is Full Time and Permanent.

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Executive Technical Sales to join our team. As a key member of our Strategy team, you will play a pivotal role in identifying new market opportunities, creating strategies for market entry, and fostering strategic partnerships within the industry. Your technical expertise and sales acumen will be instrumental in driving the growth of our business and expanding our market presence. You will report directly to Head of Strategy.

key responsibilities

The successful candidate shall be responsible for performing the following activities:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather technical and commercial information for bid preparation.
  • Developing and implementing a strategic plan for business expansion.
  • Drive negotiations and finalize deals, ensuring profitable results.
  • Conducting feasibility studies and preparing business proposals.
  • Review inquiries and meet with clients to discuss pre-bid requirements.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business partnerships and collaborations.
  • Develop comprehensive market entry strategies for new territories and niche markets that align with our business goals and strengths.
  • Generate, qualify, and manage leads through proactive outreach and engagement.
  • Drive technical sales by effectively communicating the unique advantages of our advanced composites to potential clients.
  • Tracking the business trends and review of contracts.
  • Manage and develop key stakeholder relations with existing & new customers.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to align offerings with market demands.
  • Monitor industry developments and competitor activities to identify potential threats and opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains baseline cost estimates, pricing methods, models, and processes for Datum Advanced Composites
  • Develops and prepares estimates, prices, forecasts, and baseline cost estimates for projects that are used frequently to ensure a high probability of win and ensuring the success of our revenue and bookings goals.

Your role as a Business Development Executive Technical Sales & Bid estimation is critical to the business's success. You will ensure new businesses are won, projects fulfilled on time and customer expectations are met.

Key Personal Attributes, Experiences and Qualifications

The successful candidate shall demonstrate the following attributes:

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • master's degree in business administration / Sales / Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in technical sales, bids & estimation, business development, or a related role within the advanced composites manufacturing sector.
  • Experience in creating business plans and executing sales operations.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to interact with customers and internal teams.
  • Strong technical aptitude to understand and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
  • Good customer service orientation to address customer complaints and foster positive customer relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills to manage data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools (MS Office, CRM systems, etc.).
  • Ability to comprehend technical concepts and translate them into compelling proposals.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Desirable

  • 5+ years of experience in Composites Sales and Aerospace & Defence Liaison.
  • Familiarity with advanced composites manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Existing network and relationships within the aerospace, automotive, or marine industries.
  • Experience in securing funding, grants, or investments for business growth.
  • Established network within the aerospace, automotive, defence, or related industries.
