Job Description

  • Month end close (costs, revenues, bad debt provision, Salaries & Benefits) - managing the M&E close process for NA, preparing journals, ensuring that all accounting entries are made by close of WD3; working with FP&A to identify and report variances.
  • Identification of risk and create provisions - performing a monthly risk assessment and provide recommendation for the provision/reserves when risk is identified and in accordance with GBT accounting policies. Supporting internal/external audit requests and providing balance sheet analysis and insight to corporate controllership
  • Driving initiatives to optimize working capital and cashflow at client & project level by controlling (AR/AP /unbilled project/deposit accounts)
    • Educating account managers on the best practice to comply with the credit policy (upfront deposit & client exceptions)
  • Ensuring the governance and control of all SOX key controls and working with other member of M&E finance and operations on remediation of any gaps identified. Analysis & control of project margin - monitoring of the client/event profitability is a key focus of the Controller role, ensuring that the actual margin is in line with the budget/latest estimate.
  • Working in conjunction with the Controller hub, the business controller is responsible for reviewing the profitability of all projects/events and close them when the expected margin are met.
  • Providing reporting to the market/segment leaders in order to track key metrics related to business activity. Providing ad hoc financial support and advice to M&E e.g. when new requirements from the client, ability to leverage on the international organization and adapt to local requirements. Getting to grips with a broad, complex area of responsibility that also requires good knowledge of internal GBT processes and systems. Patience and understanding when working with other countries and cultures. Clear priority management; ability to manage a large number of tasks, sometimes from different stakeholders each with authority to issue instructions for their project
What We re Looking For :
  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred with 5 -7 years of experience.
  • Able to manage conflicts and to demonstrate the necessary degree of diplomacy when engaging with other cultures. Communication skills in English (Especially using accounting terminology with operational team - During the presentation with the senior management - Many interaction with stakeholders from different line of the business)
  • Good understanding of numbers/basic knowledge of accounting; analytical skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel. High-level of proficiency in common office software (MS Office).Experience of working in accounting
  • Proven oral and written communication/presentation skills; they would be expected to influence others with new ideas and concepts. Attention to detail, thoroughness and high level of accountability. Previous travel industry knowledge is required.
  • Communicates effectively. Focused and encourages results. Focuses on internal and external customers. Fluent in English
