About the role
This is a mid-level position on the HeadSpin India Build and Release team. The team is responsible for collaborating with other engineering teams and operations both in a support role and in designing, implementing and maintaining high-quality pipelines and tooling to ensure reliable deployment of HeadSpin's platform and product.
What you'll do
- Work closely with support teams to address and resolve deployment issues in a timely manner.
- Design, develop, and maintain build and release processes.
- Review and provide feedback on code reviews to ensure high code quality and alignment with product vision and goals.
- Work with other team members to design and deliver software solutions in a distributed system environment.
- Create tooling to reduce toil and increase reliability of error prone processes for the software engineering and operations teams.
Necessarily skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with macOS and Linux command-line environments.
- Understanding of and experience using source control software such as git.
- Experience with BASH.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible. Plus to have knowledge of Chef or Puppet.
- Experience with backend development Python or another C-based language.
- Experience with in any of containerization technology such as:Docker
- Podman
- Kubernetes
- Understanding of and experience with back-end development and technologies, such as:SQL or NoSQL databases
- Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP requests
- Experience working with cloud hosting platforms such as:AWS
- GCP
- Able to read and implement technical specifications.
- Able to collaborate on developing project specifications.
- Able to communicate technical details to non-technical support staff in a solutions-oriented manner.

- Deep knowledge of Python.

Required Experience
- 4 years experience working in a backend software engineering or DevOps role.
Required Education
- BE in Computer Science or Information Science or MCA
