Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Blood Transfusion Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the safe and efficient transfusion of blood and blood products to patients in our healthcare facility. The position requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a deep understanding of blood transfusion protocols and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Performing pre-transfusion testing, including blood typing and cross-matching, to ensure compatibility between donor and recipient
- Preparing blood and blood products for transfusion, ensuring proper storage and handling
- Administering blood and blood products to patients, monitoring vital signs and other indicators of adverse reactions
- Maintaining accurate records of all transfusions, including donor and recipient information, blood type, and quantity transfused
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices for blood transfusion
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement transfusion policies and procedures
- Providing education and training to staff and patients on blood transfusion and related topics
Skills and Qualifications
- MBBS
- 1-3 years of experience in blood bank
- Strong knowledge of blood transfusion protocols and procedures
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for blood transfusion in India
- Certification in blood banking or related field is preferred
