Key Responsibilities:
Software Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain AutoCAD Plant 3D software, ensuring all updates, patches, and licenses are current.
User Support:
- Provide technical support to AutoCAD Plant 3D users, troubleshooting and resolving software-related issues efficiently.
Customization:
- Customize the software interface and settings according to project requirements.
- Develop and maintain custom catalogs, specifications, and templates to enhance project outcomes.
Training and Development:
- Conduct training sessions for new users and provide ongoing skill development for existing users.
- Create and update comprehensive training materials and documentation.
Data Management:
- Organize and manage design files, drawings, and project data, implementing effective backup and recovery processes.
Collaboration:
- Facilitate collaboration among project teams by setting up and managing project-sharing tools.
- Ensure compatibility and data exchange with other software platforms.
Standards Enforcement:
- Establish and enforce CAD standards and best practices, conducting reviews and audits of project files for compliance.
Quality Control:
- Perform quality checks on drawings and models to identify errors or inconsistencies, implementing processes for quality assurance.
Project Coordination:
- Work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure software alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary design efforts to streamline workflows.
Integration:
- Integrate AutoCAD Plant 3D with other relevant software tools, such as P&ID and structural design software.
Documentation:
- Create and maintain documentation on software configurations, customizations, and workflows.
- Document best practices and lessons learned for future reference.
Security Management:
- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect project data, managing user access and permissions effectively.
Performance Optimization:
- Monitor software performance, optimizing configurations for efficiency and recommending hardware upgrades when necessary.
Vendor Relations:
- Liaise with Autodesk and other software vendors for technical support and product updates.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed about industry trends and software advancements, identifying opportunities to improve workflows and efficiency.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in Revit (BIM software), AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, and various automation software including BIM Track, BIM Collaboration, Rushforth, RTV Exporter, and MagiCAD.
- Familiar with industry standards such as ASHRAE and ISHRAE.
- Experience Autodesk Building Systems MEP (2006, 2009).
- Skilled in Revit MEP (2009 to 2021), including 4D and 5D design.
Qualifications:
- 20+ years of experience in the field.
Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is compulsory.
