Overview:
The Bid Manager's job is to manage the bid process and ensure the submission of compelling and compliant bids to secure new business for the company. This role involves coordinating and preparing high-quality bid proposals that meet the client's requirements and reflect the company's strengths and capabilities. The Bid Manager will work closely with the sales, marketing, and technical teams to gather the necessary information and develop a winning strategy for each bid.
Being part of a strategic and growth-oriented team, the Bid Manager must have excellent project management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines. The role requires a detail-oriented approach and strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the end-to-end bid process, from initial opportunity identification to submission.
- Developing and implementing bid strategies that align with the companys objectives and increase the chances of winning.
- Coordinating with internal teams to gather information and inputs required for the bid.
- Writing, reviewing, and editing bid proposals to ensure they are compelling, accurate, and compliant with client requirements.
- Managing the bid schedule and ensuring timely submission of all bid documents.
- Conducting bid/no-bid assessments and making recommendations to the Sales Director.
- Ensuring that all bid submissions adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Analysing bid outcomes and providing feedback to improve future bids.
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders involved in the bid process.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in bid management.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in bid management, proposal writing, or a related role. Proven track record of managing and winning bids in a competitive environment.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Experience with bid management software and tools.
- Knowledge of the industry and market trends.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
- A bachelors degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Certification in bid management or a related discipline is a plus.
