Job Description

Are you a master baker with a passion for creating a wide variety of breads and exquisite pastries Do you possess the skill and expertise to craft perfect croissants that melt in your mouth We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery & Pastry Head Chef to lead our bakery department and elevate our offerings to new heights.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of bakers, pastry chefs, and assistants, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining the highest standards of quality.
  • Develop and execute a diverse range of artisanal breads, including sourdough, baguettes, specialty loaves, and more.
  • Create delectable pastries and desserts that showcase creativity and craftsmanship, with a particular focus on perfecting croissants.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation for all bakery and pastry items.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in bread baking and pastry making, incorporating them into our menu to delight our customers.
  • Manage inventory and ingredient procurement to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of bakery and pastry items into the overall menu.
  • Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and sharing knowledge.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations, upholding a clean and organized bakery environment.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a bakery or pastry leadership role, with a strong focus on bread baking and pastry craftsmanship.
  • In-depth knowledge of various bread types, including sourdough, baguettes, specialty loaves, and croissants.
  • Passion for creating exceptional bakery and pastry items that exceed customer expectations.
  • Proven expertise in crafting perfect croissants with a delicate, flaky texture and rich flavor.
  • Strong understanding of ingredient functionality, recipe development, and flavor combinations.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage bakery operations efficiently, including inventory control and production schedules.
  • Thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations, ensuring a hygienic working environment.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and innovations in bread baking and pastry making.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and other departments.
