Key Responsibilities:
Baking and Pastry Production: Prepare and bake a variety of bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods according to cafe recipes and standards.
Menu Development: Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and refine bakery items, incorporating new and seasonal ingredients to keep our offerings fresh and exciting.
Quality Control: Ensure that all baked goods meet our high-quality standards in terms of taste, texture, and presentation.
Ingredient Management: Oversee ingredient inventory, order supplies, and maintain proper storage to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
Food Safety and Sanitation: Adhere to food safety and hygiene protocols, ensuring a clean and organized workspace at all times.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff, including chefs and kitchen assistants, to coordinate production and maintain a smooth workflow.
Special Orders: Handle special orders, catering requests, and custom cake designs as needed.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a pastry chef or baker in a commercial kitchen.
Creative flair for designing and decorating baked goods.
Proficient in baking techniques, including mixing, proofing, and baking.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating visually appealing and delicious baked goods.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Willingness to work early mornings and weekends as needed.
