Provide direct technical support in planning, designing, and implementing solutions for Mylan's global Backup infrastructure.
Independently deploy, migrate, and configure backup systems.
Develop detailed schematics for new installations, upgrades, migrations, or integrations.
Implement, configure, and migrate Symantec NetBackup servers, media servers, and agents.
Possess excellent knowledge of Symantec NetBackup implementation and provide L2 support for VMware/Windows/Linux operating systems management and administration.
Have basic to advanced knowledge of EMC Data Domain and replication.
Assist SAs and DBAs with various backup needs and strategies.
Set up, configure, and manage NetBackup server/client and tape libraries.
Utilize Unix knowledge to manage NetBackup master servers.
Improve automation and productivity of backups through scripting enhancements.
Understand BMR and AIR backups.
Have knowledge of LAN-based and LAN-free backups.
Address complicated hardware issues during implementation and liaise with hardware vendors/Symantec support as necessary.
Bring 8 to 10 years of experience in designing, configuring, migrating, and implementing Symantec NetBackup solutions and VMware technologies.
Produce solid and secure system designs according to industry best practices.
Provide Tier 3 support for backup deployments and VMware-related issues as required.
Be open to working stretched shifts, odd working hours, and weekends as per work requirements.
