We are seeking a talented
Backend Developer who can bring their strong technical expertise while transitioning or enhancing their skills as an
Engineering Manager. You will contribute to backend development while managing a team of engineers, ensuring project success, fostering innovation, and maintaining a culture of high performance and collaboration. This hybrid role is perfect for someone looking to balance hands-on development with engineering leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, conducting regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and career development planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, frontend) to define and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Ensure best coding practices, code reviews, and robust testing mechanisms.
- Drive the technical direction and strategy of backend systems and infrastructure.
- Plan and manage projects, timelines, and deliverables to meet business objectives.
- Champion a positive team culture with a focus on innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Backend Development: Strong proficiency in backend technologies such as Node.js, Java, Python, or Go.
- Engineering Management: Proven experience in leading and managing an engineering team, including hiring, mentoring, and team scaling.
- Architectural Design: Solid experience in designing distributed systems, microservices architecture, and API integrations.
- Cloud Experience: Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Database Proficiency: Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and database design and optimization.
- Team Collaboration: Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience in Agile and Scrum methodologies for software development.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with DevOps practices and infrastructure management is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.
