Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Backend Developer to join our development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic, databases, and APIs for our insurance portal and other related services. You will work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver robust and high-performance applications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for our insurance portal and other services.

- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security.

- Implement data storage solutions, including databases and caching mechanisms.

- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.

- Troubleshoot and debug issues across the application stack.

- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in backend development.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Languages and Frameworks:

- Proficiency in server-side languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, PHP, JavaScript (Node.js), or Go.

- Experience with backend frameworks such as Django, Flask, Spring, Ruby on Rails, Express.js, or ASP.NET.

Databases:

- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.

- Familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.

API Development:

- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.

- Understanding of GraphQL is a plus.

Server, Network, and Hosting:

- Experience with server management and deployment processes.

- Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, or Heroku.

Tools and Technologies:

- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.

- Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

Security:

- Understanding of authentication, authorization, and data protection mechanisms.

- Knowledge of secure coding practices and data encryption.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with TypeScript.

- Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

- Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience working in agile teams.
