Organizational Overview
The Connectivity organization is responsible for the design and implementation of resilient networking across Synchrony's environments. This includes connectivity for our Datacenters, Remote Sites, Third Parties, and Cloud Platforms as well as DNS and Remote Access services. This organization services both internal and external customers to provide a seamless connectivity experience for Synchrony's users and product offerings.
Role Summary/Purpose
We are seeking a Technical Product Owner to lead our Network Access Services Team and its products within our Connectivity organization. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, have experience working in a matrixed environment with technical engineering and development teams, strong project management and Agile skills with a focus on core routing and switching products. The candidate should have a proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and with low business impact. This position will report to the VP, Connectivity Engineering.
This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as technical Product Owner for connectivity products:
- Internet proxy and firewall services (Secure Web Gateway)
- Remote access tools; with traditional and zero trust network access (ZTNA) solutions
- Provide leadership and forward thinking of access service solutions:
- Collaborate with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate business needs and translate them into product requirements.
- Define the vision and road map for the connectivity products.
- Technical leadership of engineering objectives for the deployment and servicing of connectivity solutions, overseeing all stages of design/development.
- Partner with engineering and business teams to resolve connectivity issues, solve business needs and drive outcomes.
- Engage with Information Security teams to ensure that all solutions are both secure and performant
- Manage and Maintain Engineering standards
- Serve as owner for team technical job aids.
- Maintain product certification for supported products.
- Assist with Compliance/Audit activities for supported products.
- Plan and manage technology lifecycle events end of life, end of support for supported products.
- Agile team leadership
- Lead Program Increment (PI) Planning for the product team.
- Participate in Scrum meetings, and product Sprints.
- Assist in Agile story development.
- Manage product backlog/prioritization.
- Monitor progress of changes/enhancements to the product.
- Act as Liaison with the product team and end-users to deliver updates.
Required Skills/Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience OR in lieu of degree; high school diploma/GED and 8+ years of Project Management and/or product based experience
- A minimum of 2 years of Agile project management experience, preferably IT Project Management
- 2+ years of experience leading engineering projects
- Strong background in connectivity technologies such as routing/switching, circuit technologies, AWS/Azure Public Cloud, DNS and firewalls.
Desired Skills/Knowledge
- Strong background of enterprise networking for both internal and external connectivity services
- Knowledge and background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Python, Ansible, Terraform or similar automation toolsets
- Understanding of GIT source control management
- Track record of creative problem solving and ability to thrive in a cross-functional and virtual environment
- High energy, self-motivated, with strong communication skills and experience working with external clients & technical development teams.
- Ability to adapt to varying scenarios and cater presentations and style based on the audience
- Experience with Agile software development framework, acting in the Product Owner role
- Product and operational experience in a DevOps environment
- Experience in the credit card or financial services industry
- Curiosity and passion for learning about new technologies and identifying ways to drive innovation
- Self-aware and adaptable
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills within all levels of the organization. Effectively communicate and influence all leadership levels of Synchrony and its partners
- Strategic thinker with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results
- Strong project management experience with a record of delivering on time and across functions
- Strong digital proficiency, including launching new products and capabilities and understanding of mobile devices and applications
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience OR in lieu of degree; high school diploma/GED and 8+ years of Project Management and/or product based experience
- A minimum of 2 years of Agile project management experience, preferably IT Project Management
- 2+ years of experience leading engineering projects
Work Timings: 02:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST
