Automotive Design Engineer - EV

Job Highlights:

Full-Time B-Tech/ B-E (Mechanical / Mechatronics/Electrical/Electronics)

Automotive Background/EV (Prismatic) Projects and Intent Preferred.

Key Skills:

Expertise knowledge in the design and development of Li-ion battery packs for automotive

application

Exposure to undergoing the complete lifecycle of Li-ion battery pack development

Understanding the chemistry of different cells and experience in the design of battery packs with

different form factor (Cylindrical, Prismatic, Pouch).

Ability to define the material specification for components in Li-ion battery pack

Experience in identifying the failure mode of battery pack

Hands-on experience with Cad software, SOLIDworks preferred

Good knowledge of battery pack level thermal and mechanical design, battery management

system, electrical components selection

Knowledge of CAE software will be preferred

Good understanding of EV battery pack standard UN38.3, UNECER100, AIS-048, AIS156

Experience in HV battery pack design will be preferred

Hands-on experience in Prismatic battery pack design with welded module for L5M, LCV

will be preferred

Good understanding of automotive processes (DFMEA, DFM, DVPR)

Proven working experience in electrical, thermal, and system integration for Li-ion battery

pack

Roles and responsibilities:

Inputs and understanding of requirement specification and designing and development of

battery pack.

Cell, Module layout, configuration for various concepts (air / liquid-cooled pack design).

Material selection of battery pack components (connector, contactor, fuse, shunt, cables).

Design of battery pack considering validation testing of battery pack.

Ability to identify failure mode in the battery pack and provide a relevant solution.

Design of sheet-metal, plastic components related to battery pack.

Pay: 400,000.00 - 850,000.00 per year
