Job Description:

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Automation Engineer to drive and enhance our test

automation efforts across multiple platforms. This role is pivotal in ensuring the robustness and

reliability of our applications, including mobile, web, and backend services. The ideal candidate

will have extensive experience with automated testing frameworks and a proven ability to lead

and inspire a team of engineers.

Responsibilities:

● Lead the Automation Team:

○ Manage and mentor a team of automation engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

○ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and UX designers, to ensure effective and comprehensive test strategies.

● Develop and Maintain Automated Test Suites:

○ Design, implement, and manage automated tests for our mobile, web, andbackend applications.

○ Utilize and expand our automated test coverage with the following tools andframeworks:

■ Mobile: DeTox for end-to-end testing, JEST (TypeScript), XCTest for iOS unit testing, and JUnit for Android unit testing.

■ Web Frontend: JEST and React Testing Library for unit tests, Cypress for end-to-end testing, and Chromatic with Storybook for snapshot testing.

■ Backend Services: JEST for testing our GraphQL API, Django unit testing for backend Python applications.

● Enhance Test Coverage:

○ Analyze existing test coverage and identify opportunities to improve automated testing across all platforms.

○ Ensure new features and existing functionalities are thoroughly tested with appropriate automated test cases.

● Continuous Integration and Delivery:

○ Integrate automated tests into our CI/CD pipeline using CircleCI and GitHub.

○ Regularly review and optimize CI/CD processes to ensure efficient and reliable test execution.

● Test Strategy and Planning:

○ Develop and execute a strategic plan for test automation that aligns with company goals and project timelines.

○ Prepare and manage detailed test plans for new releases and features, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.

● Quality Advocacy:

○ Advocate for high-quality standards and best practices in test automation throughout the development lifecycle.

○ Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in test automation, incorporating new tools and techniques as appropriate.

● Performance and Security Testing:

○ Collaborate with relevant teams to integrate performance and security testing into the automation framework.

● Documentation and Reporting:

○ Maintain clear and detailed documentation of test cases, strategies, and processes.

○ Provide regular reports on test automation coverage, execution results, and identified issues to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

● Educational Background:

○ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

● Professional Experience:

○ 7+ years of experience in test automation, including at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.

○ Proven expertise in building and maintaining test automation frameworks for mobile, web, and backend applications.

○ Hands-on experience with the specified tools and frameworks (DeTox, JEST, XCTest, JUnit, React Testing Library, Cypress, Chromatic, Storybook, andDjango unit testing)

○ *Experience and expertise with Frontend e2e and unit testing is a must have, specific tooling experience is not a mandatory requirement but a strong consideration factor, experience with mobile and backend testing is nice to have.

● Technical Skills:

○ Strong programming and scripting skills, particularly in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.

○ Extensive experience with CI/CD tools, specifically CircleCI and GitHub.

○ Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and the software development lifecycle.

○ *Experience with javascript and/or typescript is must have. Experience with CI/CD and Agile/Scrum is nice to have.
