Automation Python Engineer

What are we looking for

We are seeking a highly technical Manual + Automation Tester to join our Networking Products validation team. This role will focus on developing and executing test plans, automating test cases, and ensuring the quality of our networking products. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of networking fundamentals, including firewall, L2/L3 protocols, EVPN, and virtualization technologies, along with proficiency in test frameworks and automation.

What you'll do

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design high-quality test plans based on requirements
• Build test environments (topologies) for effective testing
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills
• Execute UI test cases and develop automation scripts.
• Provide weekly progress reports

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Must have

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (BE/BTECH/ME/MTECH) from IIT/NIT/BITS/COEP/VJTI and other premier institutes.
• 5+ years of working experience with 2+ years in testing networking products.
• Proven experience with automation frameworks like Python, Robot Framework, or Perl (a plus).
• Team player with excellent multi-tasking abilities.
• Strong understanding of L2 and L3 networking protocols, including UI testing concepts.

Nice to have

• Certifications in networking (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP or equivalent) are a plus.

Expertise in one or more of the following technical areas:

• Layer 2:
• Datacenter & Switching technologies
• STP, RSTP, MSTP
• Layer 3:
• Routing and routed protocols
• MPLS, LDP, RSVP, L3VPN, L2VPN, L2CKT
• OSPF, ISIS, BGP
