Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Asterisk Developer with 5-8 years of hands-on experience to work on a project integrating Asterisk-based soft switches with AI technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in VoIP, Asterisk PBX, and SIP protocols, with a focus on developing and optimizing Asterisk systems. This role involves integrating AI capabilities, such as conversational AI, into telephony systems, making it an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about VoIP and AI innovation.

KEY DELIVERABLES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design, develop, and maintain Asterisk-based soft switch systems, ensuring high availability and performance.

- Work on the integration of AI-powered conversational tools with the Asterisk platform to enhance customer interactions through intelligent automation.

- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize SIP trunks, call routing, IVR systems, and voice services using Asterisk.

- Collaborate with AI engineers and developers to integrate AI modules like virtual assistants or Chabot's into the telephony infrastructure.

- Develop APIs and scripts for seamless integration between Asterisk and AI-driven features.

- Monitor and optimize the performance of VoIP systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and low-latency communication.

- Provide technical expertise in debugging and troubleshooting issues related to Asterisk PBX and related systems.

- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies in the VoIP and AI fields, implementing best practices to enhance system efficiency

Required Skills & Experience:

- 5-8 years of hands-on experience working with Asterisk PBX and VoIP technologies.

- Strong understanding of SIP protocols, VoIP architecture, and call routing.

- Proficiency in developing and customizing IVR systems, call flows, and handling inbound and outbound calls using Asterisk.

- Experience with Linux systems, shell scripting, and managing Asterisk servers.

- Knowledge of Asterisk integrations with third-party APIs and tools, particularly in the AI domain.

- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, PHP, or Java for system integration.

- Experience working with AI platforms and conversational systems like Google Dialogflow, Kore.ai, or similar tools is a plus.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues in VoIP systems.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication, Engineering, or a related field.

- Experience in integrating AI and machine learning with telephony systems, including virtual assistants, sentiment analysis, or voice recognition tools.

- Experience in cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud) and deployment of Asterisk on cloud infrastructure.

- Familiarity with VoIP security protocols and best practices to ensure secure communications.
