Reason for Proposal
To continuously improve systems and processes in the area of planning for the paints business, in order to cost effectively deliver products to the customers and deliver agreed business objectives.
Key Objectives/Principal Accountabilities
The key objectives for the role of supply planning analyst are
- To identify and drive improvement ideas within all areas of the planning function in order to deliver enhanced planning metrics like OTIF, RSL, VSL, inventory.
- The candidate will be expected to also implement the identified improvements in a sustained process driven manner along with members within planning team and the extended supply chain.
- The candidate must be strongly customer focussed and continuously strive to seek improvement ideas and opportunities, by developing a close understanding of all interfaces of planning function with other functions (sales/logistics/manufacturing). In this context candidate may be required to travel to markets to understand and identify issues
The candidate will be the custodian of the IT systems and processes within the planning function. This will include- Periodic Maintenance and back up of IT systems, program files and masters.
- Point person within planning for managing IT improvement projects.
- To keep track of slow moving inventory in the system and develop and publish appropriate reports and trackers for management review.
- To drive the smooth launches of marketing promotions and new products, by ensuring seamless communication, information sharing and relevant data within the planning team. Develop and own processes for ensuring minimal service issues for these projects.
Functional Responsibilities/Network
The Job requires data analysis skills, good understanding of supply chain/planning activities, co-ordination and influencing across functions at all levels.

Job Requirements:
Functional Competencies:
- Experience in Planning and SAP knowledge is preferred.
- Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in MS Excel.
Other Skills:
- 1-2 years of experience in supply chain/planning-related roles (suitable freshers may also be considered).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interface, influence, and take initiative.
- Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain/Operations is preferred.
- An engineering background with a strong academic record is preferred.
