This role involves working with and supporting the Singapore Commodities business, providing analytical and trading support to the commodities trading desk. The candidate will be responsible for working with and maintaining many datasets, developing a sound understanding of how and what drives global bulk commodity and broader China listed commodity universe. The role would involve working with multiple stakeholders to ensure smooth trading operations. The role would also involve automation projects across various workflows. In fulfilling this role, the candidate will develop unique understanding of both the commodity market and systems used within the business to support commodities.
The role suits a self-motivated, highly energetic individual who has a strong background in coding and a keen interest in both financial markets and commodities. The ideal candidate will be a lateral thinker who can view, process, and decipher information at ease and work well with in a team environment.
Position Description
- Develop and maintain supply & demand models across various commodity products
- Develop and maintain cross exchange trading data analysis and drivers
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders/counterparties to update and maintain proprietary market data, commodity price curves
- Apply quantitative & coding skills to automation projects i.e. real-time risk analysis, option analytics, pricing
- Work closely with traders, operations, finance team and external brokers to ensure timely settlement of trades
- Collaborate closely with commodities trader to generate actionable insights from fundamental data
Educational Background
IIT/ NIT Graduates, preferably with MBA in Finance
Skills Required
Candidate must have:
- Solid understanding and interest in Financial Markets and Commodities, willingness to learn about risk and trading practices
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in Commodities market
- Programming Proficiency (VBA, Python)
- Experience in complex option pricing of commodities preferable
- Experience in making presentation of market analysis preferable
- Attention to detail is a must
- A good team player with strong communication & interpersonal skills
- Collaborative attitude and commitment towards continuous improvement
