Purpose of the jobThe Team Leader of Bids & Proposals will manage, coordinate and drive thepreparation and submission of winning proposalsandpresentations to thecore commercial teams in MillerKnoll. In this role, theTeam Leadwill work with cross-functional proposal team members to help respond toPre-Qualifying Questionnaires (PQQs), Invitation to Tenders (ITTs),Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and manage the proposal development process to ensure on-time delivery of compelling,HM Brand standardscompliant, and well-written proposalsfor Herman MillerInternational.
This position is a part of the IBU International Channel Support based in Bangalore.
Specific responsibilitiesThe position involves efficientworkflowmanagement within the team for content research, content writing, proposal layout & design and producing client-facing documentation on behalf of MillerKnoll in support of an array of our product lines. This role will successfully communicate and collaborate with a variety of internal stakeholders including, Proposal Writers, Graphic Designers, Sales, Dealers, Product Managers,andother subject matter experts, as needed - and thus, is a highly visible role.Some key responsibilities:
- Act as the central point of contact on assigned proposals, and lead and guide the work of the Bids and Proposals team.
- Drivekickoffand debrief meetings, as well as prepare detailed proposal plans, schedules, outlines, and compliance matrices for all phases of proposal development.
- Responsible for the delivery ofhigh-qualityproposals to meet the requirements of our customers/commercial teams.
- It is essential that the Proposals Team Lead has a good understanding and experience working within a Proposal/BidManagementteam with knowledge ofthe office furniture industry.
- The successful candidate should also be capable of being hands-on in proposal development, management,andreview.
- The Proposals Team Lead will ensure that proposals process is followed and that proposals are compliant withthe Herman Miller BrandStandards.
- The Proposals Team Lead will set performance goals in line with business objectives and hold themselves and the team accountable to meet these goalsas part of the IBU team.
- Oversees the execution of the overall bidding process,required resources/skills to develop proposal contentand design,businesspartner/stakeholdercoordination.
- Ensure development and maintenance ofHM International Tender Dictionary, Database/Repository,Presentation/Designtemplates etc.
- Manages team workload to ensure theprioritizationof proposals is appropriate to meet business demands across theHMInternational region.
- Keeps abreast of all procedural requirements associated with the job function and ensure policies are adhered to by all team members.
- Accountable for highlighting risks in proposals and highlighting tostakeholders/management any proposals that do not meetthebusinessunit's expectations.
- Supports Sales to ensure an accurate and clear presentation of all proposals is made to customers in a timely manner.
- Take the lead in preparing forquality check/reviewcalls.
- Works withBU'sdelivery leaders to ensure we have closed the loop and implement lessonslearntfrom delivered solutions back into proposals.
- Keeps team abreast ofHerman Millerproduct/services developments through peer network and formal training.
- Work withthe Design Manager,HR andBU leader, to create clear career progression plans forBids andProposalsteam.

Person profileEducation and experience8-10 years of experience in supporting Bids/Proposals/Tender response team/programs.
UG/PGdegree or equivalent.
Proven ability to work with and manage cross-functional skills/team members.
Excellent written and verbal Englishlanguage skills
Excellent business acumen Experience in business, preferably in a multi-national org.
Cross-culturalwork experience
Ability to work under pressure, manage time,prioritizeand meet deadlines.
Proven experience of design including high design ability and creativity.
Sound knowledge of the sales process.
APMP/ similar certification would be preferred.
CompetenciesSound written and verbal knowledge oftheEnglishlanguage.
Understanding of the business environment and business language.

Can use PC-based word processing / graphic designpackages/spreadsheet.
