Job Title: Associate Technical Recruiter (Sourcing & Screening)

Location: Bangalore/Hyderabad/Mumbai/New Delhi | Onsite/Hybrid

Role Overview:

As an Associate Technical Recruiter focusing on Sourcing and Screening for Data Engineering roles, your primary responsibility will be to actively source and assess candidates for positions such as Data Engineers, Big Data, Data Analysts, ETL Developers, and Data Architects. You will partner closely with senior recruiters and hiring managers to identify the best talent for our data engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Talent Sourcing: Leverage various tools and platforms (LinkedIn, GitHub, job boards, Boolean search, etc.) to source candidates for Data Engineering roles. Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates by proactively reaching out to passive talent.
  • Candidate Screening: Conduct initial phone screens to assess candidates technical skills and experience in areas such as SQL, Python, Hadoop, Spark, ETL processes, and data architecture. Evaluate candidates potential cultural fit and alignment with job requirements.
  • Collaboration with Senior Recruiters: Work closely with senior recruiters and hiring managers to understand the specific needs and technical requirements for data engineering roles. Provide market insights and help refine job descriptions to attract the right candidates.
  • Talent Pool Management: Maintain and update a robust pipeline of qualified candidates, ensuring timely communication and follow-ups with prospects.
  • Technical Assessments: Assist in evaluating the technical proficiency of candidates, including pre-screening tests or assessments for basic coding skills, database knowledge, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Engagement & Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with top data engineering talent. Continuously engage with your candidate pool through follow-ups, re-engagement strategies, and timely communication.
  • Interview Coordination: Coordinate technical interviews and scheduling with hiring managers, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for both candidates and interviewers.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in technical recruiting, with a focus on sourcing and screening candidates for data engineering or related technical roles (e.g., software engineering, cloud engineering).
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of data engineering concepts and technologies such as Python, SQL, ETL, data pipelines, Hadoop, Spark, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Sourcing Skills: Proven experience using various sourcing strategies to attract technical talent (Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, job boards, etc.). Familiarity with sourcing automation tools is a plus.
  • Screening & Evaluation: Comfortable conducting phone screens to assess technical skills, including asking targeted questions related to data engineering tools and techniques.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and explain complex technical requirements to candidates from diverse backgrounds.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple candidate pipelines simultaneously while ensuring a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Team-Oriented: Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment and build strong working relationships with senior recruiters and hiring managers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) such as Lever, Greenhouse, or Workday.
  • Experience working with technical assessments or coding challenges for data engineering candidates.
  • Exposure to the tech hiring landscape, especially in data engineering or big data technologies.
  • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) best practices in recruitment.
