Responsibilities
- Form a working knowledge of Jaspersoft products to understand key functions and underlying technologies in order to design and implement automated test coverage and test resources.
- Write detailed test plans based on product/customer requirements (MRS/PRD and Use cases)
- Execute test plans and document results, file bugs into a bug tracking system with sufficient information for engineering to resolve/reproduce the problem (configuration info, dumps, log files, databases, etc.)
- Work closely with engineering and management early in the development lifecycle (requirements and design stages) to gather test cases.
- Execute regression tests and perform black-box testing against releases of the Jaspersoft products.
- Perform all aspects of verification, including functional, structural, regression, etc.
- Investigate, isolate and document problems encountered during testing.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2+ years cumulative experience with QA processes, procedures, and tools.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field from a higher education institution.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to investigate and troubleshoot software problems.
- Understanding of SDLC, software testing methodologies, tools, and procedures.
- Ability to read and understand product-related documentation: requirements, manuals, etc.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional distributed teams across multiple time zones (India, Europe, US west coast).
- Ability to write basic SQL queries and perform CRUD operations in SQL Databases.
- Experience working with Linux and Windows OS. Basic experience with Linux shell.
- Basic knowledge in web technologies: HTML/CSS/JS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience working with Application Servers or Web Servers.
- Basic understanding of client-server architecture
- Experience testing RESTful Web Services.
- Experience with non-functional testing methodologies is a plus.
- Experience working according to Agile/Scrum methodology is a plus.
- Knowledge in one or more software development languages like Java, JavaScript, Python is a plus.
