An Associate Engineer for Detailing COE team supporting HEX products, you will have the opportunity to learn from and contribute towards Reliability projects and ensure superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability to meet global requirements. In this entry-level engineering position, you will build your technical expertise while learning product development through practical application and staying abreast of innovative technology. You will also build your professional network, engage with peers and receive guidance from mentors in the field.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Perform Machine failure analysis and Warranty Reversal for HEX Undercarriage systems parts Source Council Reliability project for Drivetrain components.
In this role, you will also deepen your knowledge base of Caterpillar s products, technologies, processes, services and systems, which you will use to:
o Responsible to understand the project requirements and mapping the database of failure, population, metrics, CPI, Weibull Calculation etc.
o Review the complete failure history of Machines.
o Collaborate with Dealers for understanding the reported failure issues for further Analysis.
o Collaborate with Product support technical team for understanding the reported failure issues by the dealer.
o Responsible in tracking for field follow, Breakdown hours, Error codes logged and Machine current hour meter.
o Work with various teams to ensure timely delivery of projects with expected quality level.
o Develop and maintain good working relationship within the team and other functional partners.
o Responsible to work with engineering team to get the analysis reports done with expected quality and velocity.
o Address all customer issues promptly and propose process / product improvements.
Background Qualification/Experience:
Bachelor s degree in an Mechanical Engineering plus 4-6 years of previous experience.
Product Development & Field failures experience in Machines.
Project Management experience.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in an Mechanical Engineering plus 4-6 years of previous experience.
Prior Experience on Caterpillar Systems like QRWB, SIMS, SIB, PSCRM, PSRPT, VISION LINK, SIS, SC2,PD Search is preferred.
Good Understanding of Engineering Print Reading, GD&T and welding.
Proficiency in Team Center, Vis Tool, Creo.
Ability to work with a diverse functional group of employees and customers from different geographical locations.
