Job Description: Associate Accounting Controls and Monitoring
Location: Mumbai
Experience: 1-2 years
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Responsibilities:
- Identify system/control deficiencies and propose solutions to improve the accounting control environment.
- Monitor and update the Accounting Control Repository Database (including account ownership and changes).
- Oversee the collection of account justification and first-level control sign-offs, escalating any issues identified.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) related to accounting controls.
- Prepare key Group accounting control reports and ad hoc control memos when issues arise.
- Coordinate with the North and Latin America teams, especially when addressing accounting issues.
- Participate in finance projects related to accounting controls.
Technical Competencies:
- Education: Chartered Accountant or Accounting degree with 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
- Mandatory Knowledge:
- Familiarity with IFRS, US GAAP, and Ind AS.
- Understanding of financial products and experience in audit, accounting, budgeting.
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of MS Access and data extraction tools like Business Objects.
- Additional Knowledge (optional but preferred):
- Banking and financial services knowledge.
- Experience with accounting controls within a finance function.
- Audit experience in financial services or banking.
