Associate, 10X Assistive Technology, IIT Madras Research Park

IIT Madras Research Park (IITMRP) / IIT Madras Incubation Centre (IITMIC) boards have set up some seemingly impossible 10X goals for 2030, which could transform India. One of these goals is to ensure that India is recognised as amongst the top five in the world by 2030 in the area of Assistive Technologies for persons with disabilities and the elderly. Assistive Technology is an immature but fast-growing domain and can pose several challenges for creative, young brains to solve.

The Assistive Technology Senior Associate, 10X would be a part of the team that would work towards fulfilling this goal. He/she would chiefly contribute to the execution and day-to-day management of the various projects in Assistive Technologies (AT) and would be working alongside research and industry stalwarts in diverse domains, in the vibrant IITMRP ecosystem. Responsibilities

To work closely with the members of the team for the following functional areas:

To develop newer technical solutions to the unaddressed complex problems in AT domain

To coordinate projects that create awareness in AT among students and startups and encourage them towards entrepreneurship.

To support the journey of entrepreneurs in the AT domain, by supporting them in the technological development, by connecting them to resources inside and outside of IITMRP and helping them to scale up their reach.

To plan and execute the day-to-day activities at IITMRP, as we advance towards fulfilling the near-impossible 10X goal of making India a leader in AT.

Requirements

Bachelor's/Master's in Engineering / Technology with 0 to 2 years of experience in a transdisciplinary team environment developing technology to solve socially relevant problems.

Basic understanding of machine learning and statistical algorithms

Strong programming skills in Python

Good understanding of AI frameworks and algorithms, especially pertaining to audio analysis, speech-to-text, and natural language processing

Android app development -java/kotlin.

Basic knowledge in audio signal processing algorithms, DSP, in Android app

Should know to work with Android Studio, Flutter

Knowledge on basic libraries and granting permissions.

Aware about API requests and sending them from app

Ability to understand requirements from multiple stakeholders and to be communicative with team-mates to brainstorm and tackle challenges together.

Creative and eager to develop and explore assistive technologies for persons with disabilities and the elderly.
