Job Summary: The Assistant Professor in Physics will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting innovative research, and contributing to the academic development of the department. The candidate will also engage in student mentoring, curriculum development, and participate in departmental and university activities.
Deliver lectures, seminars, and laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Physics.
- Develop and implement course materials, assignments, and examinations.
Supervise student projects, dissertations, and theses.- Stay updated with advancements in Physics and incorporate them into the curriculum.
- Research and Scholarly Activities:
Conduct original research in the field of Physics and publish findings in reputable journals.- Collaborate with colleagues on research projects and interdisciplinary studies.
Seek research funding and grants from external sources.
- Present research at national and international conferences.
Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
- Assist students in developing their academic and career goals.
Guide students in applying for scholarships, internships, and research opportunities.
- Departmental and University Service:
Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and curriculum development initiatives.- Contribute to the university's academic and extracurricular activities.
Support departmental outreach and public engagement efforts.
Assist in the preparation of departmental reports and documentation.
- Participate in the recruitment and orientation of new students.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of the Department.
Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
- Teaching and research experience in Physics is preferred.
Prior experience in teaching at the university level is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and laboratory equipment.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
