Job descriptionAssistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry will play a key role in helping to achieve this vision by providing a high-quality education to students and conducting research in their field of expertise.
Teach undergraduate courses in chemistry, including introductory and advanced level courses, laboratory sessions, and other courses as needed
- Develop course materials, such as syllabi, lectures, and assignments, that are engaging and relevant to current trends in the field
Work collaboratively with other faculty members to ensure consistency in course content and assessment- Advise students on academic and career matters, including research opportunities and graduate school applications
Conduct research in chemistry, including writing grants, publishing scholarly articles, and presenting at conferences
- Participate in departmental and college-wide activities, including committee work, faculty meetings, and other events as needed
A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field from an accredited institution
- A record of excellence in teaching and a commitment to student success
Demonstrated research expertise and a strong publication record in chemistry or a related field- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff to enhance the academic and research programs of the college
Excellent written and oral communication skills
