1. Shift Operations Management: - Oversee all warehouse activities during the assigned shift, including receiving, picking, packing, and dispatching of goods.
- Coordinate with the team to ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Monitor and manage shift schedules, break times, and overtime to maintain optimal productivity.
2. Team Supervision: - Supervise and guide warehouse staff, including data entry operators, forklift drivers, and labours
- Assign daily tasks to team members and monitor performance to ensure standards are met.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate shift objectives, updates, and safety protocols.
3. Inventory Management: - Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate stock counts during the shift.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and labelling of goods to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Assist in conducting regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
4. Safety and Compliance: - Enforce all health and safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct safety inspections and report any hazards or incidents immediately.
- Ensure staff compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
5. Process Improvement: - Identify and report any operational inefficiencies or bottlenecks.
- Suggest improvements to workflow, processes, and layout to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Assist in implementing new procedures and changes in warehouse operations.
6. Reporting and Documentation: - Prepare shift reports, including inventory status, staff performance, and any incidents or deviations.
- Maintain accurate records of goods received, stored, and dispatched during the shift.
- Communicate effectively with the Warehouse Manager and other shift incharges to ensure smooth handovers.
7. Equipment and Resource Management: - Ensure that all equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) is in good working condition and used properly.
- Monitor and manage the availability and use of necessary resources and materials for daily operations.
8. Client Coordination: - Assist in managing client-specific requirements and ensuring that their orders are processed accurately and on time.
- Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager and client representatives to address any issues or special requests.
9. Training and Development: - Train new hires and existing staff on warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and equipment use.
- Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement.
- Ensure that each team member has a designated backup to cover responsibilities in their absence.
10. Emergency Response: - Act as the first point of contact during emergencies, such as equipment malfunctions, safety incidents, or unexpected challenges.
- Implement emergency protocols and coordinate with the appropriate teams for swift resolution.
