Job Purpose:
Strategic Sourcing role will encompass sourcing, cost negotiation and delivery of new Motorcycle Accessory products. The role manages all processes from design release through produced parts, and ensures stock availability for the dealer network to order.
Key Responsibilities:
- Studying of drawings to evaluate manufacturing processes to meet design requirements for new GMA product
- Identifying suitable suppliers and issuing Request For Quote (RFQs)
- Comparative study of received quotations to determine most suitable supply route and progress master buyer signoff
- Work with suppliers on new products and support their development to meet GMA Quality, Delivery, Cost (QDC) requirements
- Progress and review supplier manufacturing feasibility report and liaise with GMA design for any drawing revisions
- Obtain supplier time plans for taking into consideration the machine availability for the required process sequence and capacity availability
- Sign-off optimized process flow internally with Quality Assurance (QA) Manager and then with supplier
- Progress on supplier cost sheet for approval
- Settlement of costs inclusive of transport and packaging in line with the cost targets in business case
- Raise tooling Capital Investment Justification (CIJ) for finance approval
- Create and release Purchase Order (PO) for Part Submission Warrant (PSW) samples (x5) and production quantities
- Ensure supplier development activity is on track according to the time plan
- Progress off tool samples for testing and fitting trials in the UK Technical Centre of Royal Enfield
- Progress 5x PSW samples for Quality approval process in the UK
- Once PSW samples are approved by QA Manager, Instruct the supplier to commence mass production
- Monitor the supplier through the first two production batches to ensure deliveries are On Time and In Full (OTIF) and there are no quality issues or concerns
- After the first two successful production deliveries, handover ownership to purchasing team
- Improve GMA vendor list by developing robust suppliers
- Source and develop alternative supply routes for identified parts to improve QDC
- Support suppliers for developing Value Engineering (VE) suggestions for current parts to supplement cost down exercises.
